A numbered circle is several roasters close together — open it to separate them. A single circle is one roaster, sized by how many coffees they list. A dashed ring around a circle means the position is approximate: a registered office rather than a roastery, which is often an accountant’s or a formation agent’s address. 88 of the 395 circles carry that ring. One roaster here roasts in Sussex and is registered on City Road in London, so a registered-office pin can sit a hundred and fifty miles from the roastery — treat a ringed position as “the business is registered near here”, not “the roastery is here”. Nothing here is on the map only: every roaster drawn on it is also in the list under Roasters we can place below, with the town we hold and where the position came from.

Roasters we cannot place 346
Named rather than omitted, because a map that silently drops 47% of its subject is a misleading map. Where we hold a town but no coordinates it is shown beside the name — those 57 are the ones a postcode lookup would fix tomorrow. The roasters outside the UK and Ireland are all in this list rather than on the map, and for a plainer reason: we hold no address for them at all. Not an approximate one, not a town. The shops were read for their coffees and never for where they are, so there is nothing to place them by, and a pin guessed from a country would be a decoration rather than a fact. 5 more have coordinates we chose not to draw, because the country we hold for them contradicts their own postcode — a roaster marked as Irish with an English postcode — and we cannot tell which of the two is wrong.
And 226 more. The roaster list has all of them.
Questions
How many speciality coffee roasters does this site list, and where are they?
This catalogue holds 741 roasters that list at least one coffee — 490 in United Kingdom, 126 in France, 66 in Poland, 41 in Ireland, 18 in Czechia. That is not every roaster in these islands; it is every one whose shop we have read. Checked 6 November 2026.
Can I see coffee roasters near me on a map?
Approximately, for 395 of 741 roasters — 53%. 88 of those pins are registered offices rather than an address the roaster publishes. The rest are listed by name below rather than left out silently.
Why is a roaster shown in the wrong town?
Probably because the only address we hold for them is their registered office, which is often their accountant's address rather than the roastery. Any pin from that source is labelled as approximate on this page. If a roaster is in the wrong place, their own site is right and we are wrong.
What this map will not do
It will not guess. A roaster’s name, their web address, their phone code and their coffee’s origin are all things that could be used to put a pin somewhere plausible, and all of them would be wrong often enough to matter — one roaster here has a stated city of “San Adolfo”, which is in Colombia and is where their coffee is from, not where they are. A roaster is on this map when we hold a real location for them and absent when we do not. How we measure · All 741 roasters
