What Roasticious says about this coffee
Origin
Kiringa Factory, a part of the Kabare Farmers Cooperative Society, operates with 850 active members. The coffee cherries are harvested at elevations ranging from 1700 to 1900 meters above sea level. The name “Kiringa” comes from the nearby Kiringa river, which is the primary water source for processing coffee at the washing station. The river originates from the Mount Kenya Forest. Situated centrally in Kirinyaga, between Nyeri and Embu counties, the Kabare FCS members primarily cultivate traditional SL28 and SL34 coffee varieties.
What Does AA Mean?
Bean Size: AA refers to the largest screen size in Kenya’s grading system, typically 7.2 to 7.8 mm in diameter (screen size 17/18).
Flavor Profile: Larger beans grown at higher altitudes develop denser flavor compounds, often showing bright, complex profiles with citrus, berry, or floral notes.
Density and Roasting: That same density makes AA lots roast evenly, but also means they hold onto structure longer during extraction, which is part of why a standard filter roast can taste sour or underdeveloped when pulled fast under espresso pressure.

What the roaster says about where it came from
We report what the roaster publishes and we have not checked any of it independently. A fact nobody publishes is not a fault of the coffee: almost no roaster in the UK states an importer or the price paid to the producer.
How it sits among coffee from Kenya
Roasticious describe this coffee as fruity, citrus. The filled shape is how often roasters use each family across coffee from Kenya; the rings on the rim are this coffee’s own.
Every family the roaster names is a common one for coffee from Kenya, so this reads as a typical example rather than an outlier.

What Roasticious says about itself
Recyclable packaging
“We offers 100% low-density polyethylene (LDPE-4) coffee bags, including the valve, that are fully recyclable.” their page (opens in a new tab)
SCA member
“Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) scoring is a system for evaluating the quality of green coffee beans.” their page (opens in a new tab)
These are claims the roaster makes about its business, not about this coffee, and we have not checked them against any register.
Where each fact came from
A further 6 facts on this page were read from part of the shop page that holds no sentence — a menu or a product grid — so there is nothing to quote for them.
Taken from the roaster’s own pages, and nothing here has been verified by us or by an independent body. What we store is a passage of page text cut around the fact, so one shown with an ellipsis is a passage we cannot see the start or the end of; only the fully quoted ones are complete sentences.
